Passover is all about tradition. But what, exactly, is that tradition about?

This year, Passover begins on the evening of Monday, April 14, and ends on the evening of April 22. Since many of our customers are Jewish, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a wonderful  holiday from all of us at Neat  Stuff.  For those of you who are not Jewish, you may like to know what Passover is all about.

Celebrating the Exodus of the Israelite’s from Egypt, those of Jewish faith celebrate their freedom during Passover.  The highlight of the holiday is the seder, which happens on the first night of Passover. The seder is a celebratory meal that includes traditional foods such as matzah and the telling of stories of the Exodus.  It is a special family meal that begins the Passover holiday.

During Passover, it is customary to eat unleavened bread.  This signifies the unleavened bread that was made and eaten during the Exodus.  Matzah, which is unleavened bread, is a main food during Passover.  Matzo ball soup is also a traditional dish during Passover.  Other traditional foods served for the Passover seder include Zeroah,  a piece of roasted lamb shankbone, and Charoses: a mixture of apples, nuts, wine, and cinnamon.
